APTS
did arise from the Foundation Platform High Quality Public Transport
Eindhoven. This foundation was established in 1993. After winning the
tender for the development and delivery of Phileas vehicles for the city
of Eindhoven, a company had to be formed to be the contractor. This new
company was named Advanced
Public Transport Systems BV (APTS). APTS has been established in 1998 and
is located in Helmond in the south of the Netherlands. From its
establishment APTS has 4 shareholders:

Berkhof-Jonckheere
Group 52%; produces yearly 1500 busses and coaches with
1200 employees. It is part of the VDL-Group, which consists of 50
companies with a total turnover of 550 million Euro and 4000
employees.

BOVA
18% ; BOVA produces yearly 800 coaches with 550 employees and a
turnover of 160 million Euro.

SIMAC
18% ; SIMAC operates in the field of information technology and industrial electronics and
automation, with 1250 employees and a turnover of 220 million Euro.

BOM
12% ; The BOM (Brabantse Ontwikkelings Maatschappij) is a regional investment company.
APTS is involved with the development,
production, marketing, sales and after-sales of concepts and systems for high
quality public transport.
